"In a world without access, people can't feel secure."  – Signkid

A BBC Arts Production  |  Previously featured on BBC iPlayer here
This musical short film creatively explores the ‘silent world’ that has intensified and deepened for D/deaf people in the course of the COVID pandemic. It visualises the sense of isolation, fear and societal disconnection that the hearing world has been experiencing – the sort of isolation that D/deaf people experience every day.
This 10 minute film was available on BBC iPlayer from 2 Sept 2021 – 2 Sept 2022.
Commissioned as part of BBC Arts’ Culture In Quarantine initiative, which brought the arts into people’s homes during lockdown in a partnership between BBC Arts, Arts Council England, Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Arts Council of Wales and Creative Scotland, Unlimited and the UK Disability Arts Alliance.
